We recognise that everyone’s at different points in life, in regards to age and stage, and also their knowledge of God. We have a number of different groups, ministries and programs to reach people who don’t yet know God and to help New Viners grow in their faith. These groups include programs for children, teens, single parents, international students, sport and for people who want to explore more about the Christian faith.

People can easily attend church and be a part of a crowd, but never really make close friends , develop their faith, find an opportunity to serve or be accountable in a practical way. Life Groups are a key way to get connected into life at New Vine.
Each week, a number of groups meet in homes across Newcastle. Made up of like-minded individuals, Life Groups gather to eat together, talk about God and faith, listen to, learn from and support one another. The size of a group varies from a handful of people to almost a dozen.
One thing is clear in a small group: everyone has something to share, and Life Group is an ideal place to share God’s story in our lives.

On the first Wednesday night of every month, we gather together for a night of worship, prayer and waiting on God in the Upper Room. Our desire is to press in to Him, to hear what God wants to say to us and to pray for our church, our community and those that are yet to be impacted by the love of Jesus. It’s a time where we want to see the Holy Spirit’s power and we’re open to His leading.

Combined Sunday morning program for all primary aged New Vine kids, with games, music and worship.
A fun, hands-on music program for kids 0-5 and their parent/carer, with songs, actions and activities to develop a love for music. Thursday 9.30-11.30am. $3 per child or $5 for 2 or more children.
Pre-school kids aged 3-5yrs learn songs, Bible stories and do craft activities as they learn more about Jesus.
A dedicated team of parents and helpers look after little ones (0-2yrs) on Sunday mornings, with toys and space for play, as well as changing facilities.
A multicultural playgroup for young children and their parents/carers, and a great time to practice English and meet new people. Wednesday 10am-12pm.
Kids Club is 90 mins of games, fun and Bible teaching for primary school kids in Years 2-6. Thursday 5-6.30pm $2 per child. Contact Kids Pastor Dan Lee 0488 233 302
High-school kids smash out games, activities and outings, and talk about the issues of life with a bunch of awesome leaders each Friday night in school term. 7-9pm. $3 per person. Contact Isaac Whiting 0413 126 941
High-schoolers in Years 7-10 meet in this group on Sunday mornings, and dare to be bold about living out their faith.
We have a number of soccer teams for men and women in the Hunter Christian Churches Football competition. Our home ground is Federal Park, Wallsend.
Many New Viners volunteer to teach Special Religious Education (SRE) or ‘scripture’ in local public schools, including Glendore, Minmi, Wallsend, Elermore Vale and Wallsend South. Scripture is a great way to support our local community and share with kids who might not otherwise hear about Jesus. Dan Lee 0403 576 608.
Alpha is a 10 week course for anyone who is curious or has questions about the Christian faith, life, death and meaning. Held one week-night each week and dinner is included. FREE. Next course dates TBC.
We’re involved in conversation classes at the university on Monday afternoons, where ELICOS students have the opportunity to practice their spoken English.
GriefShare is a support group that provides help & encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. Course runs for 13 weeks, workbook cost is $20. Contact Dave Macpherson 0410 741 706
