At New Vine, we take Jesus’ command to ‘Go and make disciples of all nations’ seriously. GLOCAL is our response to the Great Commission as we commit to living and serving beyond the walls of our church in both global and local contexts.

The essence of GLOCAL is our desire to make a difference in our community, our city, our  nation and the world by allowing the timeless truths of God’s Word to shape the way we think and live.

Each Sunday in May, we focus on mission and encourage New Viners to get involved as their expression of extending God’s kingdom: Go, Give and Pray.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

one point six million dollars raised through GLOCAL

First launched in 2003, New Viners raised $58,100 for GLOCAL in the first year. In the 14 years that GLOCAL has been running since, we’ve raised a total of $1.6 million. This money has allowed us to fund projects and send people both locally and globally to declare the good news of the gospel. We believe that following Jesus is the way to experience life in all its fullness, and we’re committed to helping others discover a personal relationship with Him.

For ten years, New Vine has been sending teams to Vanuatu to help construct school and student accommodation buildings in Tanna and Port Vila in Vanuatu. Christian Community Schools Vanuatu bring freedom and purpose to the young people of Vanuatu by providing education through their network of schools and ongoing health and agricultural programs that benefit the broader community.

In the local dialect, hohidiai means ‘to restore’. The Hohidiai Medical Centre exists to bring physical, emotional and spiritual restoration to the poor and marginalised people of Indonesia. The Centre sees up to 8,000 patients a year and offers an in-patient facility and birthing centre, as well as treatment and rehabilitation for leprosy and tuberculosis.

Steve and Helen Blake’s vision is to bring God’s Kingdom into the lives of individuals and communities through Liberty People. They minister together in countries around the globe through church planting, leadership training, building schools, providing disaster relief, and instigating ongoing health and agricultural programs that benefit communities.

In an area that’s fuelled by religious violence, the Christian Faith Institute is training Nigerian church leaders to minister to their communities. They also run a children’s home, vocational training and grass-roots community development projects.

As part of a team to serve or minister either locally or overseas. Going is responding to the call to take up action in both our local communities and further afar.
